Prohibition: Just another word for No!

On January 16, 1919 the federal law prohibiting the sale and possession of alcohol took effect.  The law helped to create some of this country's greatest organized crime personalities and their equally great law enforcement foes.  Need I mention Al Capone and Eliot Ness?  Pictured above, two law enforcement officers look over confiscated distilling equipment while a small little scroungy dog, just recovering from pneumonia, chews on a rope toy among the stills.  Below, a team of stalwart law enforcement officers, and their steadfast pooch, stand in front of haul of confiscated illegal moonshine.
